CBM to Merge in Tax and Advisory Expertise of Chaconas & Wilson, P.C.

Top 25 DC-Area Accounting Firm Expands Service Capabilities in Tax, Advisory and Not-for-Profit

Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), a full-service accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC, will merge in the tax and advisory expertise of Chaconas & Wilson, P.C., effective November 1. The expansion will create a firm of 97 team members including 12 partners.

The Chaconas & Wilson merger follows a merger with May & Barnhard (2017), the practice of William Blumenauer (2017), Drolet & Associates (2014) and Stokes & Company (2014). In doing so, the firm has deepened its work with not-for-profit entities and professional services firms, while adding financial planning, investment advisory and collaborative divorce consulting expertise.

CBM is now in its fifth generation of leadership since it was founded in 1921.
