About Us.jpg

"When it came time to sell my business, I turned to CBM. As my accountants for 20 years, they knew my business inside and out. That, combined with their intimate knowledge of the dealership industry, CBM not only found a buyer for me but they also structured the deal in a very tax advantageous manner."

CBM Financial Services, LLC

CBM Financial Services, LLC is a division of Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. Through this subsidiary, we have created alliance partnerships with several companies to provide you with complete wealth and investment services. These alliances create unique teams of professionals designed to help our clients build and implement custom-made financial plans that reflect their goals and time frame. This also enables us to offer unparalleled service and resources in investment management consulting, insurance services, financial planning, etc.

The CBM investment services program is based on a team approach, linking CBM’s accounting and tax skills with our alliance partners’ broad-based knowledge and resources in financial planning and investments. This relationship offers you the best possible advice from the people you know and who know you.

Personal Wealth & Investment Services
CBM Financial Services, LLC offers you the best of the best when it comes to our personal wealth & investment services capabilities. Our alliance partners take the time to review your investment objectives and risk tolerance, in order to offer you investment and financial advice that will fit your unique needs.

All investors – whether they are individuals or institutions – differ in their investment expectations and in their risk tolerance. Because every investor is unique, we have multiple alliance partners that you can speak with to determine the right solutions for you. All of our Financial Consultants follow a disciplined process for creating a customized investment management approach for each and every client.

Life & Health Insurance Services
Life and health insurance are also essential parts of your financial planning process. This is especially true if dependents rely on you financially.

Frequently asked questions:

¨      How much insurance do I need?
¨      What type of insurance will provide my family and me the greatest coverage?
¨      When do I review my coverage and when should I make changes?
¨      Should I place my insurance in a trust?

These are just some of the questions we typically hear from our clients that need to be answered.

Did you know for example that life insurance death benefits are not subject to federal income taxes, but are subject to inclusion for estate taxes unless set up properly?

With our alliance partners, we review your current life and health insurance coverages and, if necessary, can make recommendations for improvement.

Commercial Real Estate and Mortgage Financing
Our commercial alliance partners have developed long-term relationships with real estate owners and developers in the metropolitan area. They work diligently with clients to arrange the most competitive transactions in the market and to achieve their investment objectives.

1031 Tax–Deferred Exchanges
With the potential for substantial tax savings in every transaction, 1031 tax-deferred exchanges should be considered by owners of business or investment property. We work closely with a select group of alliance partners who specialize in assisting clients with tax-deferred exchange transactions. These 1031 transactions are complex and require close attention to consummate them in accordance with the IRS regulations. Our alliance partners understand the intricacies of 1031 transactions and advise and guide our clients through the process.

Cost Segregation Services
If you remodeled, constructed or purchased real estate, a Cost Segregation Study can substantially reduce your current tax bill. Simply put, a Cost Segregation Study is a way to identify certain costs in a remodeled, purchased or recently constructed building.  This study can identify costs that can be depreciated over a shorter term than the generally required 39 years. If you are interested in maximizing your depreciation expense, thereby deferring federal and state income taxes and ultimately increasing cash flow then this study will benefit you.
