Richard Morris is a vice president and director of tax services at CBM. He has more than 25 years of public accounting experience, working with closely held businesses, their owners and executives. He also has extensive involvement in estate, trust, corporate, individual and partnership taxation and planning, including compensation, retirement planning and succession issues.

In addition, Richard’s experience includes large multistate enterprises, real estate, manufacturing and financing from both a taxation and operational
perspective. Richard works very closely with clients who have unusual or complex tax issues that go beyond general tax compliance. He also has substantial involvement in not-for-profit tax and accounting issues including public and private foundations and unrelated business income tax issues.

Richard represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and various cities and states on a variety of issues. He stays on the forefront of current and pending tax legislation, and has been a speaker and instructor to numerous groups, associations and universities on tax, business formation and real estate issues. In addition to appearing on television numerous times, he has also authored numerous tax articles.

Richard is a graduate of the Catholic University of America with a B.A. degree in accounting. He received his master’s in taxation from George Washington University, and is a registered investment advisor in the State of Maryland. Richard is a Maryland CPA and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs. He also serves on the Board of Directors and as treasurer for Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC.
