Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) Welcomes Three University Students and Recent Graduates to Summer 2017 Internships

Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), a full-service accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC, welcomes three local university students and recent graduates to serve as interns at the firm and gain real-life job experience and skills this summer. The following individuals will participate in the firm’s internship program and gain firsthand knowledge of the accounting and operational expertise needed to manage a professional services firm.

  • Samantha Knapp. Knapp graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University. She continues to develop her leadership talents as a co-head coach for the university’s lacrosse team, instructing and motivating players to achieve their best, while managing their times and schedules.
  • James Ronan. Mr. Ronan plans to graduate from Pennsylvania State University in December 2018 with a Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Finance. He was one of 40 student leaders selected from a much larger applicant pool to participate in the Wall Street Boot Camp intended to train professionals for a career in finance.
  • Jessica Webster. Ms. Webster anticipates graduating from Liberty University in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She has been on the university dean’s list since Fall 2014 and belongs to the Delta Mu Delta and the Tau Sigma Honor Societies.

“We are excited to have these talented, hard-working individuals with CBM through the summer,” said Peter B. Reilly, CPA, CVA, president and managing partner. “We look forward to their assistance while giving them real-world experience at our firm, which we hope provides helpful knowledge to benefit their new careers.”

CBM recruits throughout the year for university-level students and graduates who will benefit from the experience working at the firm. Interns often work on projects with audit, tax and accounting professionals as well as administrative leaders to receive a broad understanding of the operations of a professional services accounting firm.
