May & Barnhard, P.C., a tax and financial consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD, has become Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) effective November 1. CBM, an accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC, now has 82 client service and operations professionals.

For 96 years, CBM has delivered high-quality financial management solutions to professional services organizations, not-for-profits, auto dealerships and construction/real estate entities, including many family-owned businesses. May & Barnhard has delivered service expertise since 1989 in areas such as divorce litigation support and financial planning.

Reilly, CPA, CVA, President and Managing Partner of CBM. “Our merger will provide a new depth of resources for existing clients and broaden our service capabilities to include additional tax expertise, expand our litigation support services, and provide long term financial planning and consulting.”

Debora May, CPA, CFP®, CDFA®, managing partner of May & Barnhard, joins CBM as a partner and a member of the firm’s executive committee. Jeff May and Judith Barnhard, May & Barnhard’s other partners, will also become partners at CBM.

CBM will continue to operate from its MD-based office at 7910 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 500 in Bethesda and in Washington, DC at 1901 L Street, NW, Suite 750.
