Alex’s passion for the independent “fee-only” financial planning approach comes from his desire to help people meet their goals in a sympathetic and easy-to-understand manner. As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with over 15 years of experience, Alex collaborates with clients on development and implementation of a comprehensive financial plan and investment strategy that accounts for their personal goals and objectives. Alex understands the major concerns facing individuals and families that become a critical part of the holistic planning process such as preparing for a comfortable retirement, maximizing savings and investment performance, asset allocation selection, risk management and insurance, education planning and other life events such as house purchase, receipt of inheritance, birth of a child or divorce.
He is a co-founder and also serves as the chief investment officer of Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM)’s subsidiary, MBI, LLC, an SEC-registered investment management firm, consisting of four active registered investment advisors and three analysts.
Business owners, federal employees, retirees, doctors, attorneys, young professionals and newly divorced individuals are only some of the types of clients who have entrusted Alex to help them reach their financial goals. His multifaceted experience working with such a diverse group provides him with ample opportunities to stay current in today’s rapidly changing environment. In his free time, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. Alex is an avid tennis player. He helped his semi-professional team to advance to the 3rd position in the USTA National 5.0+ league.
