Brenda is a Manager at Councilor, Buchanan and Mitchell, P.C. (CBM) with more than 23 years experience in accounting, auditing, preparing tax returns, and consulting with for-profit, financial, educational, and governmental entities and individuals. Before joining CBM in 2016, Brenda spent 15 years with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and was responsible for overseeing the 12 Federal Reserve Banks’ accounting policy, financial statements, and external audits. She has been a CPA since 1995.
Brenda’s background is varied and includes auditing; preparing financial statements and disclosures; designing, implementing, and testing risk assessment models and internal controls; developing accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures; conducting loan file reviews; preparing tax returns and advising on tax issues; assessing benefit plan valuations; and conducting forensic fraud and divorce tax analyses.
Brenda received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration (with an accountancy concentration), cum laude, from California State University, Sacramento.
