Mr. Uong is an audit manager at CBM-Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. with nearly 15 years of public accounting experience. He specializes in working with not-for-profit entities, and performing audits under Uniform Guidance, and includes experience with general audits, pension audits and tax preparation. He also has experience overseeing for-profit audits. Mike’s work in assurance attestations continues to support organizations in improving their financial procedures as well as in operating at a high level.
As not-for-profits vary, so do the services performed. Mike has assisted a private foundation in setting up their initial accounting infrastructure; performed attest procedures for a trade association at their annual international event; and visited an international disaster site for a charitable organization to examine recovery efforts.
Mike is currently working towards earning his Certified Fraud Examiner credential, the standard of professional excellence in the anti-fraud profession.
He is CBM’s primary trainer for the Certified Nonprofit Accounting Program (CNAP), a certificate-based training program which educates not-for-profit bookkeepers, staff accountants and others responsible for the management of not-for-profit finances during a two-day intensive workshop.
