CBM Manager Jordan Egert Completes CPTI Training in Mediation and Collaborative Divorce

July 27, 2018 (Bethesda, MD & Washington, DC) – Jordan Egert CPA, CFE, CDFA®, litigation support manager at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), completed mediation and collaborative training hosted by the Collaborative Practice Training Institute (CPTI), to refine his advocacy skills and enhance his ability to help clients involved in the collaborative practice.

CPTI provides collaborative training to people of various occupations-from accountants, to lawyers and mental health professionals-who help clients solve disputes as professionally and respectfully as possible. The institute’s courses aim to “engage participants in identifying, developing and honing the interest-based negotiation and mediation skills required for professionals to satisfy the training requirements established by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).”

Egert attended the Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training held September 15-16, 2017. The mediation training provided industry knowledge required to deliver collaborative services to clients.

CBM Executive Vice President Debbie May CPA, CFP®, CDFA® also participated in the Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training as an instructor.

CBM professionals participate in trainings and professional education throughout the year to stay current in their practice areas, which in turn helps them provide clients with up-to-date service.
