Patricia Drolet, CPA, PFS, Board Chair at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. (CBM), has been named the recipient of this year’s Ruth Coles Harris Advancing Diversity and Inclusion Award. The award, granted annually by the Virginia Society of CPAs, recognizes a Washington, DC metro-area CPA who has championed diversity and inclusion at their company or within the industry, has served as an inspirational mentor or coach, or has actively implemented programs or policies that improve diversity in the workplace. Ruth Coles Harris, for whom the award is named, was the first African-American woman to pass the CPA exam in Virginia in 1962.
Debora May, CPA, CFP®, CDFA® and Wendy Moyers, CFP®, CDFA®, respectively Executive Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C., have been recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as top financial advisors in the Washington, DC metropolitan region. This is the eighth such recognition for Ms. May and the first for Ms. Moyers.
Peter Reilly, CPA, CVA, President and Managing Partner of Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C., was named Managing Partner of the Year by the Rainmaker Companies, a firm dedicated to supporting the growth of hundreds of accounting firms through comprehensive training, community-building, and consulting expertise. The award was due to a recognition of CBM’s growth, an increase in diversity in both leadership and the firm, professionalism, and excellence in management and staffing.
Debora E. May, CPA, CFP®, CDFA®, executive vice president at CBM, has been named to Washingtonian Magazine’s list of 2018 Top Financial Advisors. Debbie has been listed by the publication on several occasions for this peer-nominated recognition.
CBM’s nonprofit niche growth of 23% organically in 2015 is impressive and we want to award firms that are growing business.
