Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. (CBM), a full-service accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC, will merge in the tax and advisory expertise of Chaconas & Wilson, P.C., effective November 1. The expansion will create a firm of 97 team members including 12 partners.

Since 1986, Chaconas & Wilson, P.C. has provided excellent auditing and accounting, tax, advisory and consulting services to a wide variety of clients, including not-for-profit organizations, professional service firms, individuals and businesses throughout the area. Chaconas & Wilson’s professionals have earned a reputation of distinguishing themselves through responsiveness and individualized attention to each and every client.
Managing Principal Theodore Chaconas, CPA and principals Joseph Wilson, CPA and Mollie Lambert, CPA will join CBM in leadership positions.

The Chaconas & Wilson merger follows a merger with May & Barnhard (2017), the practice of William Blumenauer (2017), Drolet & Associates (2014) and Stokes & Company (2014). In doing so, the firm has deepened its work with not-for-profit entities and professional services firms, while adding financial planning, investment advisory and collaborative divorce consulting expertise.
CBM is now in its fifth generation of leadership since it was founded in 1921.
