Julia Lafferty, a partner at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) and a director of the firm’s not-for-profit practice group, will present on a panel session on authenticity at the 2024 Northern Virginia Community College Accounting Symposium. The symposium will be held on Friday, April 26 at the college’s Annandale campus for students pursuing a journey toward a professional accounting career. Her session, scheduled from 11:40 am to 12:10 pm EST, will focus on the meaningfulness of accounting, its genuineness and integrity, and its impact on organizations and communities around the world.
Julia is a member of the Northern Virginia Community College educational foundation board and has served as a member of the executive board and the chair of the audit and investment committee. She has also actively supported NOVA events and students including at a 2019 food drive that generated donations of canned goods, soups, tuna, Thanksgiving food and energy bars for food-insecure students across six NOVA campuses.
