John R. Comunale has supported the business of dealerships up and down the East Coast for more than 30 years. His knowledge of the industry has earned the respect of some of the most prominent automotive groups in the Mid-Atlantic region; the level of collaboration and personal service he delivers has likewise earned the confidence of clients seeking the best financial and consulting services. John specializes in helping dealerships navigate their most challenging, complex transactions such as buy-sell agreements, valuations, financial reporting, multi-state taxation, cost segregation studies and real estate appraisals.
John works with large and complex dealer groups, providing consolidated financial reporting and taxation solutions.
His expertise ranges from business taxation, fraud, LIFO and operational issues to the impact of new legislation on the dealership industry. He has cultivated long-term partnerships with attorneys, insurance brokers, payroll specialists and other professionals who specialize in supporting the business of the dealership industry and its executives.
John leads Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM)’s professional education for the automotive industry and provides tax expertise to the membership of the Washington Area New Automobile Dealers Association and the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association. When he’s not helping dealerships and other business clients make informed decisions in support of their business, he’s running half-marathons, lending his strong third baseman’s arm and power hitting to CBM’s softball team, and spending time with his family.
