Clients and Friends:
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting our daily lives beyond what we might have expected even a few weeks ago.
I’d like to take a moment to share how Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell is ready to continue serving you during any disruption which might occur, while also remaining responsible in light of public health recommendations from the federal government, guidance from local jurisdictions and the World Health Organization.
First and foremost, we prioritize the safety and health of our team, clients and their families, and hope you will consider your personal concerns as you choose how to interact with CBM during tax season. As a reminder, CBM offers a number of resources that will allow you to submit documents to our professionals remotely including access to our online client portal.
We have been actively monitoring adjustments that government agencies, businesses and educational institutions have made in response to public health considerations—such as remote work or learning—to remain both responsible and operational.
CBM has long operated on an advanced technology platform, which allows us to serve clients whether our team members are at a CBM office, at a client location or at home. As a result, we expect any disruption that occurs would be minimal should events require us to close the office for a period of time. We will continue to deliver high-quality, timely service regardless of circumstances.
We will also remain available to you by proactively sharing information on an ongoing basis, so you will know who to contact and how.
Finally, as reported in recent days in the media, the Administration is considering various proposals such as a payroll tax cut or an extension of tax filing and payment deadlines out of consideration for the impact of COVID-19 on the economy and perceived risks associated with congregation in public spaces.
CBM is committed to staying current with these developments including the passage of any new legislation that would impact you. As soon as such events occur, we will communicate them to you.
Thank you, as always, for putting your trust in CBM. Our team hopes that you and your family take all necessary precautions to stay safe during this unique time. We are always here if you have questions.
