Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), a full-service tax, accounting and advisory business serving clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan and Mid-Atlantic regions, collaborated with individual team members to donate more than $14,000 to Ukraine relief efforts and in support of girls and women experiencing homelessness around the world. The giving campaign ran through March 2022 in recognition of Women’s History Month, International Women’s Day and current international events.

Ukraine relief donations by individual team members totaled $6,910 in support of The Salvation Army, Doctors Without Borders, CARE, World Central Kitchen, Global Empowerment, the Rotary Foundation and other organizations. CBM matched those funds dollar for dollar.

Additionally, the firm’s diversity and inclusion group, Diversity – Professional Accountants and Advisors Transforming the Horizon (D-PATH), spearheaded a giving campaign for I Support the Girls, an international network of affiliates that supports women experiencing homelessness by collecting and distributing essential hygienic products. Team members donated $550 and 3 large boxes of including bras and menstrual hygienic products.

“Our team continues to do our part to recognize the dignity of all individual human beings,” said Michelle Vance, CBM’s production manager and a director of D-PATH. “Our team demonstrates, over and over again, our commitment to supporting communities in need locally, nationally and internationally.”

The campaign demonstrates CBM’s ongoing commitment to charitable initiatives. Last year, the Washington Business Journal recognized CBM’s corporate philanthropy, listing the firm as a top DC-metro-area company for financial giving and volunteer hours.

“Our firm continues to be proud to match the generosity of team members,” added Daniel L. Weaver, president and managing partner of CBM. “We recognize the hardships facing the Ukrainian people and women experiencing social and economic challenges. Because we are fortunate, we feel compelled to help.”

Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) is a professional services firm delivering tax, accounting and business advisory expertise throughout the Mid-Atlantic region from offices in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC.
