(Virtual) Creating Financial Harmony: Living Together, Engaged & Newlyweds

November 17, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Eastern

One of the most beneficial conversations someone can have with their significant other is about money. Several areas of misunderstanding could lead to disagreement and seriously impact your relationship, so it is crucial to take the very important step to have a frank, honest and comprehensive discussion about this topic.

On Tuesday, November 17, from 11 am to 12 pm, join Abbie Niehoff, MPS, a divorce financial specialist at CBM, and Rebecca Weaver, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C, a psychotherapist from Kelly Haines & Associates, for a 1-hour educational session entitled “Creating Financial Harmony: Living Together, Engaged & Newlyweds”. Abbie, who helps couples navigate several financial planning considerations, and Rebecca, who helps couples facing difficulties develop healthy, restorative solutions, look forward to addressing the following areas:

  • The importance of building trust by communicating openly about finances
  • Setting financial goals (e.g. buying a house, reducing debt, money management, childcare expenses)
  • Methods for handling finances before marriage and once you are married
  • How to structure financial accounts: separate, joined or combined?
  • Common money mistakes to avoid and positive decisions to make
  • How to constructively communicate about money issues with your significant other in order to reach a compromise.

Join Abbie and Rebecca on November 17 with your pressing concerns about financial planning and relationships. Both look forward to sharing their expertise and fielding your questions about this critical area of planning to increase the likelihood that your current relationship, grounded in open communications and mutual respect, will lead to that wished-for happily ever after.
