What you see is what you get with Mihaela “Mikki” Obreja, CPA, CVA, MBA. The senior tax manager at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) maintains an open relationship with clients as she strives to find common ground with each one to understand them holistically from the first introduction. She makes empathy and timely communication a priority for all clients to understand fully, and to address, their unique needs.

With a desire to help individuals, especially those with a high net worth, understand what they have to do to be compliant and reach their goals, Mikki always makes herself available. That includes asking questions and being proactive to help with tax planning and compliance, consulting and business valuations for individuals in professional services, real estate, not-for-profits and those with privately-held businesses.

Mikki’s background includes over 20 years of tax and accounting expertise working with public accounting firms, private companies and not-for-profits throughout the country and internationally. That experience supports one of her passions at CBM – mentoring and developing new leaders. Before joining CBM in 2015, she worked with an accounting firm in Boulder, Colorado.

When she’s not in the office, it’s common to find Mikki gardening and focusing on sustainable urban agriculture. The native Romanian enjoys biking and playing tennis, and never passes on a great shot of espresso at a local café.
