"In life’s most challenging transitions, from divorce to reinvention, clarity within creates clarity with money – helping you navigate uncertainty while moving forward with confidence and financial peace of mind."
Steven Schleupner is a Manager of Divorce Financial Planning with CBM, where he helps individuals and couples navigate the financial and emotional complexities of divorce with clarity and confidence. His work is rooted in the belief that divorce is more than a financial transaction—it is a major life transition that requires both practical strategies and empathetic guidance.
Earlier in his career, Steven advised business owners on managing risk and designing succession strategies that preserved wealth and ensured continuity. His background as a licensed life, disability, long-term care, and property & casualty agent allows him to identify overlooked risks and bring a comprehensive perspective to his clients’ financial well-being. Through his own practice, You Tree, he expanded his focus into coaching, helping clients reduce conflict, communicate more effectively, and make healthier decisions during difficult transitions.
Steven’s commitment to divorce financial planning is deeply personal. Both as a child of divorce and through his own experience navigating divorce independently, he saw firsthand how overwhelming the process can be. These experiences shaped his mission: to walk alongside others during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives, offering steadiness, insight, and support when it matters most.
His calm presence and practical approach have helped clients find clarity and control in a time of uncertainty. Colleagues often ask why he chose to specialize in divorce when there are easier paths within financial planning. Steven’s answer is simple: “Why do doctors focus on oncology? Someone needs to run toward the challenge.”
A native of Frederick, Maryland, he and his wife, Samantha, share a blended family of five children and are proud grandparents. Outside of work, Steven enjoys hiking, skiing, pickleball, and reading philosophy and spiritual books. He is also kept active by his two Border Collies, who serve as loyal companions and exercise partners.
